We are looking for positive, self-motivated individuals who ascribe to Weave's ideals of community and diversity. San Francisco Bay Area Editorial Assistant/Intern

Weave is currently seek EAs and interns in the San Francisco Bay Area. Editorial assistant volunteer positions are ongoing; Interns volunteer for a specific time period (ie: a semester). Both can be used to obtain class credit pending college/university approval. Opportunities are available based on editor need and applicant qualifications. You must live in this area to be eligible.

Requirements & Duties

  • Be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program OR
  • Hold a BA in an area relevant to publishing or creative writing.
  • Read and comment on submissions in any genre.
  • Assist in other specific areas of interest like design, event planning or advertising.
  • Able to attend meetings, events and readings.
  • Be comfortable using technology (i.e.: submission manager, blogging, video chat, check email daily).


San Francisco Bay Area Events Organizer

Weave is currently seeking an event organizer in the San Francisco Bay Area to begin immediately. You must live in this area to be eligible.

Requirements & Duties
  • BS/BA in English, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Demonstrated prior experience planning and running literary events and readings.
  • Strong knowledge of literature and publishing.
  • Knowledge of city's existing literary community, available venues, resources, literary organizations, etc.
  • Be comfortable using technology (i.e.: blogging, video chat, check email daily).
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 and experience using Submishmash a plus.
