Weave Magazine is CLOSED to all submissions

General Guidelines
  • Please submit to Weave using our submissions manager. Emailed submissions will be ignored. If you are having trouble submitting, please contact Submittable support. 
  • Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but we ask that you please inform us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please see our withdrawal guidelines below.
  • We do not currently have the funds to pay our contributors, but we hope to in the future. Contributors do receive one copy of the issue in which their work is published. 
  • No multiple submissions. Please only submit in ONE category (for example, you may only submit in Fiction OR Flash, but not both) and do not submit again until you've received a response on your first submission. If we invite you to resubmit, please do so. Otherwise, submit only once every six months. 
  • No previously published work please.
  • Please send a brief bio of 50 words or less.
  • Query after 4 months by email weavezine@gmail.com.
  • Former contributors are asked to wait at least two issues before resubmitting.

Withdrawal Guidelines - PLEASE READ
  • Please: DO NOT EMAIL US ABOUT WITHDRAWALS.
  • If you are withdrawing part of a submission, please log into your Submittable account, choose your Weave Magazine submission, and write a note in the "Activity" box. If you do not know how to find this please contact Submittable or follow the instructions for a full withdrawal and simply resubmit.
  • If you are withdrawing an entire submission, please log into your Submittable account and update your submission's status on Submittable (instructions here). DO NOT email us about withdrawals; they will get lost in our overflowing inbox.
Poetry
  • Submit 3-5 poems in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT. Do NOT submit multiple times with individual poems. These submissions will be withdrawn from consideration.
  • There is no official line limit to poetry, but we generally prefer shorter verse.

Fiction
  • Submit in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT.
  • Unsolicited submissions should be no longer than 3000 words.
  • No genre fiction please.

Flash Fiction
  • Submit in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT.
  • Submit up to 3 pieces of flash fiction; each piece may be 1000 words or less.
  • Anything larger is considered fiction, and therefore you may only submit one piece.

Nonfiction
  • Unsolicited submissions should be no longer than 3000 words.
  • Submit in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT.

Drama
  • One Acts/Monologues not to exceed 4000 words.
  • Submit in ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT.

Art
  • Please submit multiple pieces via Zip files. DO NOT upload five different times.
  • We are looking for BLACK & WHITE photography, pen and ink drawing, digital fine art, collage, mixed media, paintings, etc.
  • Submit BLACK & WHITE artwork ONLY. At this time, Weave Magazine has no plans to print in color.
Comics/Illustrations/Visual Essays/Stories/Poems 
  • Please submit multiple pieces via Zip files. DO NOT upload five different times.
  • We are looking for BLACK & WHITE comics, illustrations, visual essays, stories, or poems. If your piece doesn't seem to fall into these categories, nor into the regular art category, but is of a visual nature, please submit it anyway! We want to see your visual-literary experiments! 
  • Submit BLACK & WHITE pieces ONLY. At this time, Weave Magazine has no plans to print in color.
Reviews
  • Please limit reviews to 500-800 words.
  • Acceptable categories include all genres of fiction, poetry, chapbooks, and creative nonfiction.
  • We accept multiple submissions for chapbooks only for our Chapbook Roundup.
  • Please ensure that your selection follows our themes of diversity, community, and equality.
